Tip of the Day

Remembering...

When Hollywood wants to honor a star, the celebrity signs his or her name and leaves palm- and fingerprints and footprints in wet concrete for all to see -- for many generations to come. And come they do to see their favorites, like Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, and The Duke, John Wayne. You can make family memories permanent, too, by casting images of friends and loved ones and important personal dates in concrete. Here's how. Prepare concrete mix and use a shallow form (a square box or round garbage-can lid will do fine). Pour in a few inches of concrete, and as it sets up, have friends and family sign names, etch in important dates and make hand-, foot- and whatever imprints in the wet concrete. Then, use them as stepping stones along walkways or in and among gardens. Future generations will be appreciative of your efforts. And that's the On The House tip for today.
