Loose Cabinet Door Hinge?

Got loose hinges on a kitchen cabinet door? Ignore them and the door might wind up on the floor. Today you'll learn how to tighten screws so your cabinet doors look and act like new. When cabinet door hinge screws work loose over time (and they do), remove them one at a time, and fill the hole with toothpicks that have been dipped in woodworking glue. Trim any excess with a sharp utility knife and replace the screw. If any hole is larger than a quarter-inch, use heavier wooden matchsticks instead -- also dipped in woodworking glue. Catch and repair loose cabinet door hinges early -- before they get too bad. With this extremely simple repair they'll look and act as good as new. Try it. And that's the On The House tip for today.
