Son of "Stud Finder"

Movie cowboy Tom Mix was born this day in 1880. His horse's name was Tony, and when trouble was a-brewin' all he had to do was whistle and his stud stallion came a-runnin'. You might be looking for a stud -- a wall stud that is. If you're working in the old ranch house (putting up shelves or a heavy mirror) and you want to skip trouble, too, you've got to know where them wall studs are. Recently we gave you six ways to find a stud from using high-tech gadgets to wall tapping. Today in an episode we call "Son of Stud Finder," you'll learn still another way to locate studs. All you have to do is get out your electric razor, turn it on and move it along like you are shaving the wall. When you pass over a stud the sound will change from hollow humming to real buzzing. Find one and more will be just 16 or 24 inches downstream. Now you've got seven ways to find a stud. Ain't that magnificent (the magnificent seven)? Yee-ha! And that's the On The House tip for today.
