Tip of the Day

Happier Holidays

Roy Rogers was born this day in 1912 and for years he and Dale Evans entertained at the old Double-R Ranch without muss, fuss or undue stress. Since it's the "entertaining" time of year and Thanksgiving visits will soon be here, here's a few Dale and Roy no-hassle tips for happier holidays. First start planning way in advance with three main lists: guests, menu, and shopping. Roy starts drawing up invites while Dale plans simple stuff that are crowd-pleasers (like cowboy lasagna or turkey jerky surprise). Then old Pat Brady heads out nice and early in his jeep "Nelliebelle" to round-up groceries. Dale and Cookie the cook start fixin's early with some stuff done days ahead. Dale sets a gorgeous table with lots of candles and flowers that make everything look elegant and inviting. When it's time to dine -- it all looks fine. Even Trigger and Bullet agree. Why wait 'til it's late? For a happier turkey day, start your roundup today, buckaroos. And that's the On The House tip for today.
