Tip of the Day

Time-change Checklist

Tomorrow's a big day. First there's football. It's also the day we change clocks when we "fall back" and spend an hour resetting everything, VCRs, computers and answering machines. Whenever the time changes you should remember to check smoke-detector batteries, as well. You also should check the batteries in all household safety systems like the carbon monoxide detectors and all back-up batteries in things like the burglar-alarm control panel. When the time changes you should also reset the programmable thermostat and change the filter in the furnace. You can also change the direction of your ceiling fans. And that's the On The House tip for today.
