Drilling Overhead?

Beverly Garland who played Barbara Douglas, the schoolteacher who married Fred MacMurray and became the mother on "My Three Sons," was born this day in 1926. For the last three years of the series, she picked up after the boys (and dad) and was a whiz at solving household problems. She would have loved our tip on how to avoid making a mess when drilling a hole in the ceiling. To keep from getting white hair, first drill through the center of a plastic coffee can lid. Leave the lid on the drill bit, and head for the ceiling. Now when you drill, the dust will fall onto the lid instead of onto you and the floor. This overhead dust catcher would have earned a gold star for neatness from schoolteacher Douglas. And that's the On The House tip for today.
