Screen Drywall Repairs

Are telemarketing calls driving you crazy? So much so that you wound up punching a big hole in your wall? Today you'll learn how to screen your walls -- if you didn't screen your calls. Here's how: homeowners can make minor drywall repairs like taping and sanding cracks or patching small holes using paper or mesh tape. They add strength to the repair. The bigger the hole, the more added strength is needed (in the form of larger mesh patches) used instead of multiple strips of tape which build up the wall surface far too much. These larger mesh patches can be purchased alone or they come in repair kits. But as repair needs grow, due to bigger and bigger holes, you can save money by switching from the larger mesh patches (made for drywall repair) to patches cut from common fiberglass window screening instead. They work (and sand down) as well and cost a lot less. And that's the On The House tip for today.
