Tip of the Day

Ductwork Booster Fans

Today's the official middle of winter -- 45 days gone and the same number till spring. Turning that around, it's also 54 years since the coldest day in history -- 81 degrees below zero, recorded in Canada in 1947. Now that we're in the middle of winter, maybe you're noticing that a new-room addition or added living space (like an enclosed porch) that was comfortable last summer now seems to be too cold and chilly, even when other rooms are warm and toasty. If so, your heat supply might be coming through ducts extended from an existing one nearby. This sometimes works well, but when it doesn't, and there isn't enough ?oomph? to maintain comfort, try a simple in-line duct fan. Ductwork booster fans mount inside the duct and help heated air get to where it's needed -- like your new living space. Ductwork booster fans are easy, inexpensive and with average skills you can stop the chills. And that's the On The House tip for today.
