Burning Candles at Both Ends

Holidays put extra wear and tear on your home, and many people can mean lots of little accidents. Around this time of year folks use lots of candles. Candle glow is warm, festive and romantic, but candle wax is a pain to get out when it drips onto your carpet. When this happens, you have a couple of options. One is to chill it with an ice cube and scrape it off with the edge of a butter knife. Another is to cover the drops with a paper towel or brown paper bag and gently run a warm iron over the spot. Start with a fairly low temperature and keep checking and increasing the heat as you go along. One or both of these methods should do the trick. And that's the On The House tip for today.
