Tip of the Day

Texture Painting

If you've got lumps, bumps and streaks on your walls, you either have an inferior paint job or you've undertaken the latest craze in interior design and decorating. We're talking about schmoozing and squooshing and smooshing to name but a few methods. These nifty techniques turn ordinary paint and plain old walls into works of art. These techniques use various surface textures applied directly on walls beforehand or special materials blended into the paint and special top coatings to create unique looks and dramatic effects that dazzle, sparkle and shine. With pre-paint surface textures, the sky's the limit. Put them on with a broom, a trowel or a sponge. Your only limitation is your imagination. Once you've created a one-of-a-kind surface, how you apply paint is another ?anything goes? deal. You can brush it, dab it on or use a special roller. And you can speckle two or more colors or create breathtaking blends, sweeps and combos. And that's the On The House tip for today.
