Screwdrivers 101

The first thing we want you to remember is your screwdriver is your friend. Today's tool is stronger, safer and more useful than ever before. So you can forget about bent shanks, broken handles, injured wrists and stripped heads. Your basic 101 screwdriver is composed of the following: the head, handle, shank and tip. The two most important things to remember when choosing this tool are the material it's made of and how it fits your hand. A good grip gives you maximum drive power. Get one that's tough and made of forged steel. A square shank is your secret weapon because you can use a wrench for more turning power. Finally, don't abuse it. They are made to drive screws and are not to be hit by a hammer. And that's the On The House tip for today.
