Nuts to Furniture Scratches

Nothing ruins the beauty and enjoyment of fine furniture more than a little scratch. As time goes by, that small mar starts looking more and more like the Grand Canyon. Here's a tip on how to hide fine scratches that drive you crazy. Say "nuts" to furniture scratches -- literally. Try rubbing them out with the meat of a pecan or any other oily nut. You can even use a little peanut butter. If that sounds a too messy, there are alternatives. It's the oil in the nut that does the job, and olive and vegetable oils work well, too. Rub the oil in with your thumb, and polish the surface with a soft clean cloth. Next time you get a little scratch, don't panic. Let a nut take care of it for you. And that's the On The House tip for today.
