Carpets Need Sprucing Up for the Holidays?

If you're cleaning your carpets yourself, follow these steps for more professional results:

1. Pretreat spots and traffic areas using a cleaning solution in a spray bottle.

2. Go easy on the soap and chemicals. Use only as much as the manufacturer recommends. Too much can act as a magnet for future soiling.

3. Finally, don't leave the carpet soaking wet. Excess water can damage seams and backing material.

And that's the On The House tip for today.
