Tip of the Day

Protect your Home from the Harsh Weather Ahead

With Winter just around the corner, now's the time to take action to protect your home from the harsh weather. Get water away from the home, clear debris from the roof, gutters, downspouts and drainage systems. If you have a sump pump check to be sure it's working properly. Have the chimneys inspected and, if necessary, cleaned. Make sure the chimney's latching is secure and that there are no bird nests sitting on top of the flue. What better time to check your roof for leaks and potential leaks. If you find problems get them fixed now. Finally, check the furnace or boiler to make sure that it's in good repair and will operate at peak efficiency. And that's the On The House tip for today.
