A Measuring Device Is at Hand!

In a pinch, a measuring device is often conveniently at "hand." For example, the span from the tip of the thumb to the tip of your pinky is about 8 inches. It's about 6 inches from the to the tip of your thumb to the tip of your index finger. Smaller measurements can be made using the first joint of the index finger. It measures about an inch. When measuring greater distances, get the arm involved. The average distance from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger is about 18 inches. And that's the On The House tip for today.
