Tip of the Day

Make Your Own Concrete!

If you are going to do a project this year that involves concrete, you may want to read this closely. For small concrete projects we tend to lean toward the easiest alternative: ready-mix in bags. Unfortunately ready-mix concrete is NOT a strong alternative. This time why not try mixing your own. It's as simple as 1 - 2 - 3.

1 - 2 - 3 is the ratio for a really strong mix of concrete that consists of:

* Cement
* Sand
* Rock

Here is the formula:

1 Part Portland Cement
2 Parts Sand
3 Parts 3/4" Rock

And you have your own concrete!

And that's the On The House tip for today.
