How to Remove Candle Wax From Your Carpeting

The holiday season soon will be upon us. That just might mean that festive candles will be aglow throughout your home. Unfortunately, some of the candle wax is likely to drip onto some surfaces, such as carpets. This is not only unsightly, but left untreated, the wax could work its way deep into the material, making it increasingly difficult to remove. One sure way we have found to remove wax from carpeting is with a brown paper sack and hot clothes iron. Start by removing the excess wax by using a wooden popsicle stick or a dull butter knife. Sweep up what you have removed and place the brown paper bag over what remains. Next, place the hot iron set on medium-high heat onto the paper sack and work it back and forth, not allowing it to rest in place. You will be amazed to see the wax drawn in by the paper sack. The carpet will look as good as new. And that's the On The House tip for today.
