Vinyl Floor Patch and Repair

Patching a vinyl floor can save hundreds of dollars in replacement costs, and it is something that you can do yourself. No patching material available you say. What about under the refrigerator, the range, the washer or dryer?

To make the repair:

1) Cut out the damaged area, at a dark pattern line (if possible), and glue in the replacement piece. By the way, tub & tile caulk works great as an adhesive.

2) When the glue is dry, seal the joint surrounding the patch with clear seam sealer.
You can find this at a local flooring store.

Our technique is NOT recommended for asbestos tiles or other brittle floor coverings.

And that's the On The House tip for today.
