Tip of the Day

Remodel Your Kitchen

Tired of bumping elbows and knocking knees in the kitchen? Is the distance between work centers so great that you've considered roller skates? If either of these scenarios sound familiar, then a kitchen remodel may be the best medicine for a safe and convenient work environment.

The primary element in kitchen design is the work triangle. That's the path of activity connecting the sink, range and refrigerator. The most efficient kitchen contains a work triangle with a total length of not less than 23 feet and not more than 26 feet. To save steps, no side of the triangle should be less than 7 feet, nor more than 9 feet. And to avoid unnecessary interruptions in the kitchen, traffic between other areas of the home should not cross the triangle.

Save steps by putting your best foot forward when planning your dream kitchen!
