Garden Hose Bonanza

Garden hoses are available in three basic lengths: 25 feet, 50 feet and 100 feet -- with the most popular length being the 50-footer. Hoses are also available in several diameters: 1/2-inch, 5/8-inch and 3/4-inch. The most common is 5/8-inch. Also, hoses are made from three different types of material: vinyl, nylon-reinforced vinyl and rubber. Nylon-reinforced vinyl is the most popular. Rubber kinks. For most applications, you'll want a 5/8-inch x 50-foot nylon-reinforced vinyl hose. Up to 60 percent more waterflow can be expected when the hose size increases from 5/8-inch to 3/4-inch. Good watering! And that's the On The House tip for today.
