Keep Cutting Tools Sharp and Therefore Safe

Maybe we should call this the On The House "safety" tip for today. If you love to tinker, there is something you should know about all cutting tools: They work best when they are as sharp as they can be. A dull power-saw blade has a tendency to bind and can force the saw to jump backward over several of your precious body parts. Unusual pressure must be exerted to make a dull wood chisel cut properly, making it dangerous for anyone standing close by. And, oh yes, a dull drill bit can start a fire and burn out your drill motor. Look in the Yellow Pages under "tool repair" or "sharpening." And that's The On The House tip for today.
