Screening Gutters

You called us to ask about an easier way to clean your rain gutters and the answer wasn't what you wanted to hear: "Lots of elbow grease," we said. We can't help you if your problem is pine needles, but we do have a suggestion if you're dealing with almost all other kinds of leaves. Our secret -- gutter screens. Screens attached to the tops of your gutters will help keep out every kind of debris and also prevent clogged downspouts. A light brushing a couple of times a year is all that will be needed, and if you have the right tools, most future cleanups can be done from ground level. Gutter- screening material is supplied in rolls, precut to widths that will slip right into place in most prefabricated rain gutters. And that's the On The House Tip for Today.
