QuietRock n’ Roll

Listen to audio clip

Fred has read about QuietRock in a Carey Bros. newspaper column and wanted to know more information on how it works. For years, architects have said the best way to keep loud sounds out of the home, but also keeping sounds inside from transferring outside the home, is by using multiple layers of drywall. With QuietRock, a new solution to reducing noise was discovered. Taking various types of materials laminated between sheets of ¼” sheet rock, QuietSolution created a ½” thick, very thin wall board that will deaden sound better then anything previously used. Even better, no more multiple layers of dry wall – in most instances, one layer will do the trick. QuietRock is available is varying thicknesses and can be applied directly over existing drywall when remodeling or as an original layer in new construction. QuietRock replaces older techniques such as resilient channels, clips, sound board and vinyl and offers lower cost solutions than other methods with higher STC performance.)
