THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES DRYERS

THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES DRYERS

Clothes dryers are one of the most energy intensive appliances we have at home. Whether electric or gas, substantial amounts of heat are generated for a good deal of time in order to dry those clothes along with a motor to keep them tumbling. First, stop drying most of your clothes- simply hang them outside, or inside to dry. If hung wet, many products will not require ironing. For those clothes you must dry, be sure to clean your dryer lint screen after each load, and never overload the dryer. And furthermore, clean out the duct every few months. You’ll save up to five percent on your electricity bill with just these simple tips. And if everyone did it, we’d save the energy equivalent of 350 million gallons of gasoline per year. So start addressing your dryer habits today and look forward to saving money.
