How to turn your spare room into a guest haven.

Be warned…this make work so well your guests will never want to leave!

When it comes to making that spare room feel a bit like the Ritz there are simple suggestion to make your quests feel welcome.

Fresh linens are a must! For my own bed I like color, for my guests I like white. Crisp, clean, and coordinated linens, and extra blanket and clean towels folded on the edge of the bed, and you just might find a tip on the nightstand when they leave.

Have a place to relax. A comfortable chair and ottoman are just the answer for your guest to enjoy a quiet place to be on their own… You might benefit the most from this one!

A reading light is essential. Everyone likes to read for a while before going to sleep. Be sure to have good light in your guest room with the local newspaper and a pretty magazine within reach.

Share your favorite novel. A vacation just begs for a good book! If you’ve just finished a wonderful one, why not share it with your guest?

A cozy robe and slippers will make moving around easier. With limited space in a suitcase, a robe & throw away slippers are a nice added thought on the bed.

Speaking of the suitcase. Provide empty closet space, some nice hangers, an extra drawer and a suitcase rack or a little bench to put things away. Don’t worry a safe should not be necessary!

A mini frig or cooler for midnight munchies. Water, chilled wine or a glass of milk with cookies can be just as affective as ambien for a good night sleep. Since most guests won’t feel comfortable roaming thru an unfamiliar house in the middle of the night, providing a late night repast can be nice and sweet.

Finishing Touches. Who doesn’t love fresh flowers? A fresh, colorful seasonal flower arrangement is a lovely touch in your guest room.
