Apple Turnovers

These will make you turnover with joy!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped
juice of one lemon
4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

8 sheets of frozen (thawed) phyllo pastry dough
Butter flavored Pam spray
Cinnamon sugar

Mix filling ingredients in a bowl and toss to coat. Place phyllo dough on a cutting board and cut into three 4-inch wide strips. Take one strip and lightly coat with Pam. Top with 2nd strip. Place a heaping tablespoon of filling at one end, and fold opposite corner over filling forming a triangle. Continue process until all turnovers are filled.

Coat a baking sheet with Pam. Place turnovers seam down. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serves 12
