Dom's Apple Crisp

A Perfect Summertime Dessert!

12 to 15 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 cup raisins

2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 sticks butter, slightly softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 cup oatmeal

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl toss the apples, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon and cloves until well mixed and apples are coated.

Spread half of the apple mixture in a large baking pan and sprinkle with raisins. Spread other half of the apple mixture.

Mix the flour and salt. With a knife, cut in the butter. Mix in the brown sugar, nuts and oatmeal. Spread over apples

Bake for 1 hour.

Delicious, served warm with vanilla ice cream on top!

Serves 10 to 12
