How Sweet It Is!

The average cocker spaniel weighs about 24 pounds. You know what else weighs 24 pounds?

The amount of CANDY that the average American gobbles down each year! We end up wearing a big chunk of it on our waistlines. Our "sweet tooth" is acquired at a very young age and it never goes away.

Think about it. Only three miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups — the kind you find in office candy bowls -- fill your belly with more sugar than a glazed doughnut. A small bag of Skittles has 47 grams of sugar, more than a half cup of Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream at 21 grams. Go for the ice cream!

Eight Twizzlers contain 28 more calories than a Wendy’s Quarter Deluxe Double Stack Hamburger. At least the burger has more protein!

Having a sugar craving? Go for a piece of fresh fruit,
maybe some sugarless gum, go for a walk, meditate, sing, call your best friend…… but if you really must satisfy that sweet tooth, go for quality over quantity. Choose one dark chocolate truffle over a king size candy bar and savor the flavor.

We do need sugar to keep our bodies working properly, but only the amount that was meant to be there by eating a healthy natural diet.
Remember, a little bit goes along way.
