Rules for Storing Wine

You don't have to have an expensive "wine cellar" to store wine properly.

Just keep it in one place (preferably cool and away from direct sunlight), with the bottles on their sides to keep the corks moist. And don't feel that you have to drink the entire bottle at one sitting: wine stays fine for several days if recorked and refrigerated. (After a few days freeze the leftover wine in ice cube trays and pop out a cube when you need it for a sauce or stew)

Many wine-lovers think they have to "age" a wine after purchasing it.

My tip…. Since a winemaker will not "release" a wine until it’s ready to consume…. When you buy it, you can drink it. But properly stored wine will last for a long time, so just wait for the appropriate moment with good friends and good food--and enjoy.
