The first step is to remove the rust using a chemical rust remover that contains phosphoric acid. Next, coat the damaged area with a small amount of metal primer using an artist's brush. Once dry, finish the primed areas with touch up paint supplied by the manufacturer. If you don't know who the manufacturer is, contact the outlet where you made the purchase. Chances are that they can put you in touch with the manufacturer.
