More Flitz

Question?

My husband is going nuts trying to find another tube of "Flits", a German-made polish for stainless steel and other metals. It was a thick paste that worked really well on our kitchen sink. He bought it at a home show and really liked it. Do you know where we can find more of this product?

Janelle

Answer!

If you are a frequent reader of our column you are no doubt aware that our readers are our greatest resource. And, since neither one of us has had any luck locating "Flits" it's time to turn to our ever faithful readers for a little help.

If you have heard of this product, have information on the manufacturer, or know where it may be obtained we would enjoy hearing from you. If you haven't heard of this product and would like to recommend a polish that has worked well on your stainless steel then we'd like to know about it and we'll be sure to share it with you sometime soon!

You're in luck Janelle! We take that back. We're all in luck thanks to the many letters we received from our faithful readers regarding "Flits". Oh, and by the way, it's spelled Flitz. The response from our readers was almost unanimous-- Flitz is the best thing since sliced white bread. That is to say that among metal polishes there appears to be none better.

According to the folks at Flitz, their product will polish and protect virtually all metal, fiberglass and painted surfaces. Furthermore they guarantee that Flitz will protect against rust, tarnish, water stains and salt or fresh water corrosion for up to six months.

Hearing all of these claims my brother and I thought that it was time for a little ON THE HOUSE product test survey and, you got it, you guys get to play the laboratory rats. Just drop us a line at this newspaper in accordance with the instructions at the end of this column and we'll send you, courtesy of the manufacturer, a trial size sample of Flitz to test in your home. Please make sure to enclose a self-addressed and stamped envelope with 25 cents postage. Then, once you have had the opportunity to use the product write us and tell us how it performed. We'll share your responses in a future column.

For those of you who have used Flitz and want to know where to purchase it we invite you to contact the manufacturer. You can reach the folks at Flitz International toll free at 1-800-558-8611 or 1-800-243-8929. Or if you wish to write, the address for mailing is: Flitz International, Ltd., Dept. OTH, 821 Mohr Avenue, Waterford, WI 53185.
