Vinyl Laminate Cabinets

Question?

I have a 10-year-old house with vinyl laminate cabinets and I want to know how to properly clean them. Also, how can I repair the vinyl where it is peeling at the corner?

Barbara

Answer!

Anything stronger than dish soap may cause de-lamination, and no mater what cleaner you use, don't soak areas for long periods of time. The particle board base used on most cabinets of this type might swell or buckle. Test Formula 409 in an unnoticeable area. If it works, do very small areas (12 inches square) at a time.

Your chance of finding matching corner trim in one in a thousand - or worse. Check at a building supply store or large home center for a matching trim, but the odds are not good. Because it is relatively inexpensive and easy to install, you might consider changing all the trim at once for a perfect match.
