Sodium Carbonate

Question?

Clear shower glass. Unfortunately, I didn't write it down correctly. What is it?

Judy

Answer!

We have been told by our clients who have opted for clear glass in their new shower enclosures that the best way to keep that glass clean and looking good is to use a rubber squeegee after each use. Believe it or not, even their kids follow suit with this method. (Good experience for those kids pursing careers at service stations). But seriously, customers report that the squeegee is kept in the shower or vanity and that a quick once-over does the trick.

Now, if you haven't followed this procedure, and if you want your kids want to be rocket scientists instead of service station attendants, you should try the following method: The product you heard us mention is sodium carbonate - a mild alkali, found in a variety of cleaning products. One of the most popular cleaning products containing sodium carbonate is X-14, a mildew-and-stain remover. It also contains sodium hypochlorite and sodium bicarbonate, which, in combination with sodium carbonate, will not only act as a cleaning agent, but will disinfect the area and dispose of mildew.
