Tip of the Day On The House with the Carey Bros.

High-velocity / Mini-air-duct HVAC

Want to add forced-air HVAC without major hassle? Now you can.

The Flintstones debuted on TV on this day in 1960, with Fred and Wilma living in a cave in Bedrock. While a bit ?primitive? in many ways, this cave had clever upgrades that made it okay?and if your ?digs? are a bit ?primitive,? too, you might want to do some upgrading of your own.

If you live in a house with no ?forced-air? HVAC, and you wish you could add it without a hassle, now you can'thanks to a new technology called?high velocity / mini-air-duct distribution?! Basically, it replaces the need for retro-fitting conventional ductwork in walls and under floors by using a ?perimeter? ring of narrow ductwork up in the attic or crawl space, and a series of small two-inch tube-type ducts coming off of that. It allows you to pipe heated-air (also from a mini-unit installed up above) into rooms below as needed; the system puts as many outlets in rooms as you wish and delivers both heat and cooling.

Living ?primitive?? You can now add H V A C? easy!
