November has arrived and if you're like us, you're scratching your head pondering how time has flown this year. At the end of last month you should have moved your clocks forward AND changed batteries in all of your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms. This is especially important as we enter the home heating season when house carbon monoxide poisoning and house fires rise dramatically.
Speaking of rising...have you noticed your utility bill climbing? The U.S. Department of Energy predicts record highs in home energy cost this winter. You can combat out-of-control home energy costs, improve comfort and help save the earth by utilizing our energy saving tips in this month's issue of On The House Express. Plus, we've got some great tips on keeping your pets safe from our friends at PetProtech, the leading U.S. manufacturer of pet safety products.
We've also go some great Thanksgiving safety tips to keep in mind as you prepare for your annual feast. We'll also share some ways to beef up home security at your house as daylight grows increasingly shorter. And, as always, we'll go "In The Kitchen with Dom DeLuise" for some tasty treats.
All of us wish you and yours a healthy and peaceful Thanksgiving! We will be spending the holiday giving thanks for all of the wonderful blessings we have in our lives, and hopefully you will as well! It's turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, green beans, rolls, cranberry and pumpkin pie around the Carey house. Next month we'll tell you how to fix an upset stomach.
Happy November!
